Founder and Creative Director

Rich Seidel - Creative DirectorRich’s Story

I have always had an interest in creating things, as a child, Legos were among my favorite toys. I studied communication and media arts in school and all the while working in a print shop. Three years into my studies I took interest in graphic design, specifically how an idea can be visually communicated through creative design. I taught myself how to use professional design programs and read up on design theory. The marketing and design business is an ever changing industry, so my education is ongoing. I have shelves upon shelves of design books that I use to continue studying the subject. It is an exciting industry to be involved in.

My fourteen years experience in the print industry is applied to all of our design and production. I believe that design should be simple and clean in order to get the message across no matter what medium you are using.

I enjoy travel. I use my travel for inspiration in my work. Visiting different places gives me a unique perspective on everyday things. I also enjoy good food and cooking. The process to making a good meal and a good design are similar. They are both creative endeavors that require you to take multiple elements and make them into one cohesive thing. The menu at a restaurant can be as important to the meal as the dishes themselves, it’s all part of the “experience”

I have recently taken up a wide variety of activities, most of them seem to be outdoors. Snowboard and bike riding are both a love of mine. I have also dabbled in fly fishing (pictured above.) I enjoy amateur photography on the side as well.

I have a passion for being a designer and marketer for our clients at Blue Stripe Creative and I am also starting an independent shirt brand called Lost Brands.

I believe a work/life balance is a thing we should all be looking for. Integrating the two can be tricky but can lead to a happier life. I also believe that family plays a big part in most peoples lives. I try to remember to never lose sight of the bigger picture, enjoy the climb and be real to myself and others.
